Akron Steam and Sauna

Place doesn't look like much on the outside but I was pleasantly surprised but what i saw inside. People were very friendly. Quite busy contrarty to what I read in here earlier. I found several attractive decent guys there last night. New to area and tried others and as smaller cities go i thought it was quite fun.

Considering we don't have bathhouses in South Carolina, this was pretty good time.

Cruddy

A feast for the senses- if your senses crave the filthiest, cruddiest atmosphere. The men- no joke- were hairy-backed, sweaty, greasy looking lumps of man fat. NO YOUNGER GUYS at all. The whole bathouse needs to be drenched in Clorox bleach and disinfectant. The sauna gives you a bad feeling. I would rather lick the street than take a dip in the hot tub. Seriously, don't ever go here. It is gross out city!

Needs updating

It's a good place to visit and hang out. I felt the entire place could be updated. It does not attract the younger crowd however, the older guys were really cooland I had no issues. I wish they could put something on the big screen other than CNN. Some updating and gay porn would put most folks (young and old) in the mood.

Don't judge a book by it's cover!

Yeah, this place is a dive. But most gay places are dives, aren't they? Akron Steam and Sauna is a unique bathouse. It's definitely old school. No fancy frills. As a leather man, I prefer places like Steam and Sauna. When I went to college in Akron, I looked forward to a trip to the baths on Saturday night after the bars. You may not realize it by the looks of the outside, but a lot of hot men used to visit and have a lot of fun. Some of my best hook ups happened here. Good looking masculine younger guys compensate for the more mature types. It used to be very frisky, as long as you go late, like after midnight. There's a TV room, patio, and sauna. It looks dirty, but really isn't, as far as baths go. You won't find many twinks or shaved, athletic types here, which is fine with me. This is more like a 70s-style bathhouse than any of the baths in Cleveland. It refreshingly does not hide itself down a deserted street, like Flex in Cleveland. Steam and Sauna is located right off a main street, and is easily visible and accessible. In fact, if you are closeted and don't want to be seen, you should know that the baths are in a high traffic area, right by two straight porn palaces.
